Namgyal Monastery : Established by the Third Dalai Lama Sonam Gyatso during 1575, the Namgyal Monastery is a college of tantra that carries out rites for his Holiness. Positioned adjacent to the Central Cathedral in McLeod Ganj, the monastery is a dwelling to in excess of 180 monks, who do prayers and rituals of every the main schools of Tibetan Buddhism.
Dolma Ling Nunnery : Situated just at the back of the Norbulinka Institute in the valley under lower Dharmasala, which is the foot for the Tibetan Nuns Project which offer shelter and teaching for over 350 refugee nuns who had to flee persecution and agony in Tibet.
