The park is sheltered with the rich, dry, deciduous forests, occupied with Sal, Ain, Tendu, Mahua, Haldu, Semal, Mango and Bamboo, for the most part around the artificially created Tadoba Lake. Andhari River flows all the way through the forest.The park is the home of around 55 Royal Bengal Tigers.
Wildlife and animals are sambar, chinkara, leopard cat, pangolin, panther, spotted deer, sloth bear, chausinga, barking deer, bison, wild dog, hyena, Jackals and night safari is ideal to observe tigers, leopards, gaur, nilgai and Chital and other endangered species.
Tadoba National Park is also a paradise of the ornithologist with a wide range diversity of migratory birds, python, bengal monitor lizard and crocodiles comprise wildlife and birds of the park.The tourist attraction in the park is the jungle safari which attracts huge number of visitors. A permit is necessary for the safari. The twelve seated mini buses are available at Tadoba for the safari through the road around the Tadoba Lake.
The park is open through out the year and closed every Tuesday.
