Billing is 14Km or an hours nearly jeep-taxi or van ride from Bir. The starting point is in front of Cape Amaho in the Chaughan Tibetan colony at about 10 am every morning in the duration of the season.
by Air: The domestic airport of Kangra is at Guggal, which is 7km distance from Kangra town and nearly 40 km from Palampur. There are direct flights from Delhi to Guggal.
by Rail / train : Pathankot is the nearby rail station. An overnight train connects Delhi with Pathankot. From Pathankot Palampur is linked by narrow guage railway. One can take a bus or taxi to Bir from Pathankot too.
by Road / local transport : There are ordinary, semi deluxe or deluxe buses obtainable from Delhi and other key towns of Himachal Pradesh to Dharamsala, Palampur, Baijnath, Jogindernagar or Mandi. Every Kulu Manali buses go via Mandi. Bir can be reached effortlessly from all these towns by buses or taxi. The distances from the diverse places to Bir are Dharamsala (70km), Mandi (70km), Palampur (35km), Jogindernagar (12km), Baijanath (12km). From Delhi, the overnight services of DTC Indraprastha Service to Baijanth, HTPC Super Deluxe to Palampur both leave from ISBT Delhi around 6pm are preferred. From the junction which turns towards to Bir Road, Taxis and Rikshaws are obtainable.
