Established during 1956, the North Simlipal National Park was recognized as one of the Project Tiger reserves of India in 1973. Covering an area of 2700 square kilometers in Mayurbhanj district with nearest town Baripada 20 kilometers away and neighboring states Bihar and West Bengal the park consist of hills and valleys, brooks, perennial rivers and waterfalls and the home of rare and varied flora and fauna.
