The Eravikulam National Park is located in the Devikulam Taluk of the Idukki District which attracts the tourists with its splendour with mountains covering and grasslands. The area of the park is 98 square kilometres park by the side of the high ranges of the west coast in the Munnar Forest Division, Idukki in Kerala. Bordering Kerala and Tamil Nadu in the north it enlarges as the Annamalai National Park. This park was formed to shelter the Nilgiri Tahr or Ibex. 

It was acknowledged as a sanctuary in 1975 taking into account the ecology, fauna, flora and zoological importance it was confirmed as a National park in 1978. The park has three zones, core, buffer and tourism area.
