The artificial lake Fateh Sagar is located in Udaipur city in Rajasthan. Placed towards the north of Lake Pichola nearby the doorway to Moti Magri Hill, Fateh Sagar is said to be the pride of the City of Lakes of Udaipur. It is encompassed by various slopes on the three sides and Pratap Memorial on the north. It is the second biggest artificial Lake in the Udaipur city. This pear molded Lake was unearthed in 1678 when Maharana Jai Singh was in force. He likewise built the well known Jaisamand Lake, southeast of the city of Udaipur. The lake has been utilized as a water store and Maharaja Fateh Singh redesigned it in 1888 AD at an expense of 6 lakh rupees after the rough storm and unprecendented rainfall wrecked the dam and, in that year, the Lake was named as Fateh Sagar Lake.
