Things to do and safaries in Mahavir Harina Vanasthali national park, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh

The main attraction of the park is the endangered and rare black buck, the state animal of Andhra Pradesh. There are more than 450 black bucks, 500 cheetals, wild boar and animals species or fauna like monitor lizards, mongooses, porcupines, large variety of snakes. Numerous species of birds like partridges, quails, peacocks, doves, pond herons, egrets, kingfishers, cormorants, kites, vultures, 
short toed eagle with array of migratory birds can also be seen all through the year. 

There are rest houses and observation towers for viewing the animals and bird watching inside the park. There are services available for a van ride inside the park to see the animals from close distance for a nominal fee. The park remains open every day of the week except Mondays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
