Ashramam picnic village - Kollam backwater cruise , Kerala

The Ashramam picnic village is situated in the 48 acre Guest House complex, having the backwater frontage. One of the key centre of recreational performance in Kollam, it's main attraction is a 200 year old Government Guest House distinguished for its style and exquisiteness of architecture . Beside the guest house, the huge tourist complex quarters an adventure park, tourist boat club, children traffic park and Yatri nivas the budget hotel run by Kerala Tourism Development Corporation. The Children’s traffic park which is believed to be the biggest traffic park in Kerala and the adventure park on the shoreline of Ashtamudi backwaters presents a stimulating experience. Both the parks are designed by NATPAC. Many types of boats, which include luxury cruise boats, power and motor boats are obtainable on hire from the jetty close to the adventure Park. The District Tourism Promotion Council conducts regular backwater cruises in motor boats and house boats from the boat club.
