Dachigam National Park, a location with plentiful natural beauty is situated 20 kilometers north east of the nearest town Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. The park spreads in an area of 140 square kilometers having altitude which range from 5000 to 14500 feet over sea level is distinguished as upper and lower Dachigam. The protected area since 1910 under the Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir It was declared a National Park in the year 1951.
