Yuksom, Lachen in Sikkim are the location near Khangchendzonga National Park to start trek for trekkers and mountaineers can be obtain permission the Tourism Department ,Yuksom for trekking to different routes. Foreigners required to get restricted area permit from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Delhi to visit this region.
Indians nationals require Inner Line Permit from the State Home Department and the State Chief Wildlife Warden is also mandatory. Popular trekking routes are Lucanes Jakchen to Yabuk Rest Camp , Lachen to Thasngu, Muguthang to Thay La and Khyoksa La Camp Green Lake. Muguthang is the place where the renowned Yak race in India is held every year.
