The main attraction of Candolim Beach is Aguada Fort which was erected by the Portuguese during 1912 to fortify against the Dutch and the Maratha raiders.
The church, light house and the garrison of the Aguada Jail add to tourist spots as well. The north side of the fort has twin beaches Calangute and Candolim making the place one of the most visited spots in Goa.
