Lava is located at a height of 7200 feet, it is renowned for its closeness to the Neora Valley National Park and its stunning view of the Jelep La and Rechi La passes. Lava is nearly 32 km east of Kalimpong. Oak and fir trees greet the tourists at Lava. Lava is in addition known for its leaches. For the period of the rainy season, vegetation around the area gets roofed with leaches.
