Arranged in the centre of the northern state of Himachal Pradesh, Manali is at northern end of the Kullu valley, 280 km north of the state capital Shimla and 108 km from Mandi. Manali is roosted at an elevation of 2050 meters above ocean level and is spread along the banks of the river Beas. Surrounded by towering mountain peaks of Himalaya at little distance, Manali real attraction is its closeness to the snowline.
Manali is circumnavigated by excellent knolls of deodars and blooming horse chestnuts. It is a popular honemoon spot and trailhead for various treks and also an incredible countryside for adventure sports in India. In the Summer Manali is stuffed with Pahari talking Kullus, Lahaulias, Nepali workers, foreigners and Indian toirists. Manali truly implies the Home of Manu. Legend has it that Manu ventures off a vessel in Manali to reproduce human life after flood had crushed the world. Manali offers wonderful strolls through through orchards and fairly tale woodlands of deodar. As one trips the green way the fluting notes of the whistling thrush goes over the woods.
