Kovalam, a residential area spotted 16 km from Thiruvanathapuram is popular for its delightful shores. Its sandy vacation spots are lined with palm-bordered tidal ponds and rough bays. Kovalam with its remarkable and brilliant vacation spots is a protected cove and is invested with abnormal common magnificence. The Arabian ocean coast at numerous spots is lined with lovely fixes of coral reefs. A hours drive from the capital, it is the most renowned south Indian vacation spot, famous for sunbathing.
It was throughout the 1930's, that the probability of Kovalam beach as a vacationer end was uncovered by the European visitors of the then "Travancore" kingdom.
