On the path to the beach there is a statue of Bandodkar, Goa's first chief minister. The Kerkar Art Complex, spotted on the beach is a famous center for expo and artworks of artists and craftsmen of Goa. Concerts of Indian classical music and dance are performed on Thursdays and Fridays. Making progress toward Mapusa (8km) stands Calangute's Church, St Alex with its remarkable dome and twin towers. The inner part is lovely with its structural planning and the gold and white elaborate sacrificial table with shell corners.
Food joints / eateries : There are more than enough great spots to eat and drink beverage. Beach shacks are for the mostly semi open air, palm leafed huts, which has specialty in exotic sea fish / food. All serve chilled beer. Reggies Bar and Golden Eye are great shacks.
