Prayer sessions are performed at the Raj Ghat on the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi , 2nd October and death anniversaries, 30th January.On the north of the Rajghat is the place where Jawaharlal Nehru was cremated and is known as the Shantivan / Shanti Vana. Close to this are the cremation spot of Indira Gandhi, who was assassinated in 1984 and her two sons Sanjay (1980) and Rajiv (1991).

Opposite to Raj Ghat is the Gandhi National Museum where belongings of Mahatma Ganghi are preserved. Furthermore known as National Gandhi Museum and Gandhi Memorial Museum, it has collection of photographs, books, documents, exhibitions, paintings, journals closely connected with Mahatma Gandhi. In addition it houses the history of the Satyagraha movement / philosophy of ahimsa / non-violence of Mahatma Gandhi, the clothes Gandhiji which he was wearing at the during assassination along with a pair of wooden sandal. Gandhi Museum enclose sections, like photo gallery, information centre and a library. The Museum arranges exhibitions, meetings, seminars etc.
