Lepchajagat is a tiny village situated in wilderness at an elevation of 6,956 feet and at a distance of nearly 19 kilometers from Darjeeling hill station. Even though it is fairly close to main hub of Darjeeling and takes merely 45 minutes by road, it has its individual identity.

Lepchajagat is the ideal location for the nature lover or looking for a adoring stay for couple of days. a short stay in Lepchajagat can be combined with visits to Darjeeling just to bring together the vacation with an offbeat stay in the midst of nature. As the name suggests, it one time used to be a settlement of the Lepcha tribes or the world of the lepchas. Afterwards it was acquired by the West Bengal Forest development Corporation (WBFDC) and currently a reserved forest area.
