Arranged beneath Uyilatti town, Elk falls is around 7 km from Kotagiri. The Water falling down the slope from a tallness offers the most shining of the sights. The street passes through gently laid out Badaga residences. Enroute at the Kannermukku town is at Dimbhatti (close Kotagiri), the first European house on the slopes constructed by Collector Sullivan in the year 1819. The two storeyed stone house is currently in a demolished condition. The best time / season to see / visit the Elk waterfall is amid rainy season when the water is all the more effective and decent. From here one can see the valley of Kookal, once well known for its oranges.
