The Ayemenam village depicted in the Booker Prize victor novel  The God of little things by Arundhati Roy is placed exceptionally near Kumarakom. Pathiramanal a little wonderful island in the Vembanad Lake is a favourite frequent of many extraordinary transitory winged animals. This island in 10 sections of land could be accessed by boat from Kumarakom. 2 km from Kumarakom betwixt elastic manors is a beautiful spot Aruvikkuzhi waterfalls, where water falls from a tallness of 100 feet.
