Situated in the capital of Rajasthan, the City Palace of Jaipur or the chief palace is an impressive merge of traditional Rajasthan and Mughal architecture. The huge palace complex occupies one seventh of the walled city of Jaipur. Originally erected by Maharaja Jai Singh II of the Kachhwaha clan of Rajputs, add-ons have been made to the palace complex by some of his successors.
The complex is alienated into a series of courtyards, sprawling gardens and buildings. It is home to quite a lot of splendid structures like the Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, Badal Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple and the City Palace Museum.
