Zangla in Ladakh situated at a distance of roughly 35 km from Padum, Zangla is one of the chief
tourist attractions of Ladakh. Till only some years, it was in the rule of a titular king, who is not alive any longer. Zangla is generally famous for a number of places in the village. There is an aged castle in the village, which currently lies by and large in ruins. The solitary intact remnant of the castle is a tiny chapel that overlook the deserted valley underneath. Quite in close proximity to the castle is an old Nunnery, which houses a little population of monastic nuns.An additional location worth visiting in Zangla, Ladakh, is an old monastery positioned in the close by village of Tsa-zar, mid way amid Stongdey and Zangla. The monastery boast of a number of of the most wonderful wall paintings. How to reach Zangla by air / road / train / local transport / bus :
The adjacent road is 240 km long Kargil Padum road, which remains open from around middle of July to early November. Buses operate thrice, weekly, from Kargil. Though tourists can opt for Super Deluxe buses too. Jeeps and Gypsy taxis can as well be hired at Kargil.
