The train tour operator who manages operation of Palace On Wheels Train Tour from middle of 1980, started 7 Nights / 8 Days Royal Rajasthan On Wheels Train Tour (moreover referred to as luxury edition of Palace on Wheels) to serve to a niche market. The train tour commenced in December 2009 and operates on a different route to cover South Rajasthan, Agra Taj Mahal by way of central India destinations of Khajuraho and Varanasi.

The Royal Rajasthan on Wheels train is magnificently furnished, has more roomy cabins and offers onboard Ayurvedic Spa Saloon and price tag about 20% higher than Palace on Wheels. The village of Bodhgaya located close to the river Niranjana, 12 km from Gaya in the state of Bihar is the most significant Buddhist pilgrimage centre and draws Buddhists from all over the globe. It is here where Lord Sakyamuni (Gautam Buddha) enter into meditation after being stirred by the suffering of mankind and achieved enlightenment.

The unique Bodhi tree or Pipal (Ficus religiosa) - the tree of awakening, was said to have been ruined by Mauryan emperor Ashoka. The giant Bodhi Tree (Peepal) seen now is believed to have grown-up from the original Bodhi Tree beneath which, sitting on the elevated red stone platform, vajrasila , Prince Siddharth meditated and at last attained Nirvana. The raised area has stone carving of his footprints where the devout offer flowers.
Chaukramana - the Jewel Walk, where it is supposed that the Buddha used to stroll whilst in deep thought and  Animeshlochana - is the sacred dot where Buddha stood to stare in gratefulness at the Bodhi tree for a week.

On the outer part the fort there is a mosque erected by Tippu Sultan of Mysore. At the doorway is the Anjaneya temple, devoted to Sri Hanuman said to be as aged as the fort itself, the shrine was just renovated and draws hundreds of devotees from far and near. In the center of the fort is the inspection tower connected by a wide and broad flight of stairs. The structure, about 80 feet in circumference at the base and more than 30 feet high, afford a splendid view of the sea on three sides and the green scenery to the east.
There are many underground passages which lead outside from different portions of the Fort. Two of them still remain intact, one lead to the south of the fort and the other to the meet on the east. The magazine inside the fort closed to the public, is used to stock up weapons and ammunition and handled by the Archaeological Survey of India. The sea fortresses situated on the rocky projection, west of the fort also offer a splendid view of the sea and the beach. There is a sea side trail with a wonderful view of the fort to the east and the sea to the west connecting the beaches north and south of the fortification. The Pallikere beach with its shallow waters is merely one km. away from the fort. Owing to its historic significance, the fort is under control of the Archaeological Survey of India. Coins and further historical artifact were discovered by archeologists making it an exciting excavation site. Bekal is as well one among the five centers selected by the Government of India to be developed into a Special Tourism Area in India.

Bekal fort is the biggest and the finest preserved fort in Kerala lying 16 Km south of Kasaragod district on the National highway at the northern portion of the state. The fort, a round impressive structure of laterite 130 ft. over sea level, standing on a 35 acre headland that run into the Arabian sea. This fort is more than 300 years aged and is supposed to have been constructed in the 1650's by Sivappa Naik of the Ikkeri dynasty. There is moreover another faith that it was initially built by Kolathiri Rajas and afterward captured by Sivappa Naik.
Hyder Ali of Mysore took occupation of the fort in 1763 A.D and then the Huzur of Canara during Tipu Sultan's reign and afterward the British. Positioned at a height of 2,130 meter above sea level, Pahalgam, the Valley of Shepherds is a renowned hill station in Jammu and Kashmir. It is 45 km. away from the District Head Quarter at Anantnag and 96 km. from Srinagar, the state capital. Set in the midst of pine and fir woods and encircled by snow capped mountains, Pahalgam is unharmed by urban development. It is a picturesque small village at the confluence of the streams that flows from Lidder and Sheshnag rivers. Pahalgam moreover serve as base camp for pilgrims scheduled for the shrine of Lord Shiva at Amarnath and treks to the high Himalaya mountains. Each year during July and August, the town throngs with thousands of pilgrims. Pahalgam has a 18 hole Golf course at 2400 meter above sea level bounded by pine trees and attract the participation of local and national players in the tournaments. The entire jail consists of 698 cells with seven wings which spread out like flower petals and hence the jail was called 'Cellular'. The central point of the jail had a tower with a turret linked to these isolated cells to an effortless watch.
There is a reference library wholly on the Freedom Movement with unique reference to Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the Cellular Jail, which had further than 200 photographs of freedom fighters, their biographies and autobiographies amongst other things. Certain paintings on the inhuman treatments meted out to the prisoners, utensils, vessels, uniforms etc. of the prisoners used in then, tools, machines which the prisoners were made to run etc exhibit here.  The jail was declared a national memorial on December 30, 1997.

A sound and light show is held here about the historical events regarding this jail. Admission fee to the Cellular Jail: Rs.5 Camera / Video charges : Rs.10 / 50 , Timings: 9.00 AM to 12.30 P.M. and 1.30 – 5.00 P.M. from Tuesdays to Thursdays.

History / architecture / entry fees of Cellular Jail - National Monuments of India

The erection of the Cellular Jail Port Blair , Andaman and Nicobar Island , India commenced in 1898 and finished in 1906. An earthquake in 1941 and the Japanese occupation from March 1942 to October 1954 affected the jail building. At present there are merely three wings and these stand as a quiet monument to the great patriots and martyrs who were captive in this Jail, and sacrificed their lives at the altar of the freedom. In one of the three existing wings of the Jail is located in the District Jail. 

The inside walls of the hexagonal brick built construction, of the second floor of the Central Tower of the Cellular Jail, one can unearth the names of more than 336 freedom fighters and revolutionaries who were imprisoned in the Cellular Jail for their patriotic dedication. Every one of these is displayed on the marble slabs. The main entrance, edged by castellated round towers has been renovated.

By Air / helicopter : Port Blair, located on the South Andaman Island, is the nearest airport . Port Blair is connected by flights in India to Chennai (located 1190 kms away), Vishakapatnam (located 1200 kms away) and Kolkata (located 1255 kms away) via daily flights. Limited helicopter services are also available for inter-island commute.

By Sea / cruises / vessel / ship / ferry services : Every week, three to four ships sail between Port Blair and Kolkata and between Port Blair and Chennai. There is one sailing from Vishakhapatnam every two months. The Shipping Corporation of India runs these sailings. Further, the Directorate of Shipping Services maintains regular inter island foreshore and harbour ferry services to cater to the needs of inter-island commuters.

By Road / local transport : While some of the islands have a decently developed road network, many do not. Some of the islands are entirely inhabited, and as such have no roads at all. On the islands which are somewhat more populated and have a decently developed road network, local transport comprises of local buses, bicycles, motorcycles, auto rickshaws, taxis and rental cars / motorcycles / cycles.

Cellular Jail, at the present recognized as the National Museum is a witness to the Freedom Movement of India at Andaman and Nicobar Islands. A major historical feature in Andaman, it overlooks the sea from a hill north eastern part of the Port Blair town center. Primarily, it was erected by the British to house hazardous criminals. But, afterward, thousands of freedom fighters were imprisoned and tortured here, during the British and Japanese rule. Many prisoners died at this place.
The nationalist prisoners were brought to this jail on March 10, 1858. Afterward in 1872, the British transformed it into a cellular one subsequent to the assassination of Lord Mayo by a convict and named it as Kalapani. Convicts were sent to these islands and locked up in the Cellular Jail. Numerous political prisoners and revolutionaries were held as prisoner here for the duration of the freedom struggle. The prisoners were not permitted to converse with their friends and relatives on the mainland excepting one time in a year. Even the letters and newspapers under subscription by the prisoners were censored prior to handing to them. Whilst fighting against this dictatorship a number of political leaders had to lay down their lives and lots of prisoners had gone insane in the Jail and ended their life by committing of suicide.
