Gorumara National Park is positioned in the Dooars region of district Jalpaiguri West Bengal. Situated on the bank of Murti River the National Park has an enermous assorment of flora and fauna. The grass land of Garumara is well known for Asiatic one horned rhinos. The watch tower next to the Forest Rest Houses in Gorumara, Dooars offers panoramic views of the whole park together with the Murti Valley.
The observatory tower is the most excellent location for watching wild animals in particular rhino, bison, elephant, and deer as they habitually visit the salt basin just below the tower. In 1949, Gorumara Forest was recognized as wildlife sanctuary when it was a tiny forest. Afterwards during 1992, it was confirmed as a National Park, which is composed of 89 km of varied forest.
